Gone Phishing

Pronounced “fishing”, if you receive an email with a handy link to a website you could be vulnerable to a phishing attack. The link could lead to a look-alike site that purports to be from your bank or Ebay etc, if you follow the prompts and enter your account details and passwords you will be giving them to criminals.

Emails from banks requesting your account details are invariably phishing scams, ignore and delete them.

I recently received an email stating my tax rebate was ready for collection, simply fill in this online form with your bank details and the £500.85p will be credited immediatly.

Sounds plausible except that all passwords and security information were required. Unlikley they would need all this just to make a credit to my account.
